Anyone who is a student in Turku University of Applied Sciences can become a member of TUO, the Student Union of Turku University of Applied Sciences.
Every member gets a SAMOK student card with valid semester sticker. With the student card you can get versatile and money saving membership benefits. The card works everywhere in Finland (yes, everywhere!) and gives you all student discounts that you can imagine: trains, busses, student priced lunches (also in university campuses and other cities campuses), haircuts, museums, restaurants, and many many more... so remember to show the card often and ask for student discounts.
The easiest way to join TUO is to press “Membership form” in the left menu. Fill the form with your information, add a photo and pay directly with your Finnish bank account. If you need to print the invoice, remember to use the reference number!
If you do not have a Finnish bank account, you can print the joining form here. Fill it, pay it in your bank and send the form to us with the receipt (see address from contact information). You can also visit us in our service points, and fill the form and pay the membership fee there.
It takes about 3-4 week for the student card to arrive. We will send you an email to your students-address when it has arrived. You can get your card from these locations depending on where you study:
Lemminkäisenkatu campus: TUO’s office, inner court yard
Ruiskatu campus: TUO’s book store in main hall
Linnankatu campus: Student office
Salo: Local student association in 2nd floor.

You need to renew your student card yearly with a new semester sticker. If you have paid your Student Union membership for your whole study time in the beginning of your studies, you only need to collect the new semester sticker from one of our service points, no charge. If you have paid for one year membership only, you need to continue your membership with a small fee to get the semester sticker.
You must have your student card with you when you come to collect the new semester ticker, so remember to take with you when you visit our service points.
