A representative body of 31 members acts as the highest decision making organ of TUO. It gathers at least three times a year. The representatives are chosen by election every autumn and they are in office for a full calendar year. Every member of the student union has the right to be a candidate and to vote.
The representatives decide on the action plan and financial evaluation, accepts the activity report and the accounts, defines the amount of the membership fee and decides on possible changes in the rules and regulations. Additional to this the representatives i.a. choose the government of TUO and the student representatives for the government of the Turku University of Applied Sciences. The representatives takes care of students interests and works with TUO’s government to improve students interests.
According to the rules of student union, the chair of the representatives is also the chair of the student union. The secretary of the student union functions also as the secretary of the representative body.
